IRP

Each jurisdiction has its own process but the requirements are largely consistent. You'll need a National Safety Code / Safety Fitness Certificate and proof of residency in your base jurisdiction (corporate documents, lease/mortgage, utility bills, tax filings).

Once the account is created, we add vehicle information and documents — signed ownership documents, commercial inspection, authorization for vehicle services and a plating letter (if leased). IRP fees are calculated using purchase date/price, GVW and distance travelled. In year one, average distance applies, so part of the fees will be in CAD and part in USD.

IFTA

Some jurisdictions include IFTA in IRP, but for many it's separate. We submit basic operating information, corporate account number and business number, plus your physical and mailing addresses. Once you receive your decals, apply them and start tracking all distance and all fuel for that truck — we file quarterly.

Both IRP and IFTA renew annually.

Training & Independent Setup

If you have the time and capacity, we'll guide you through creating and managing your accounts. We stay available through your first IRP transactions and IFTA filings to make sure you're set up for success.
